Former Cheshire Boys Champ and Northern Order of Merit Winner Ian Winstanley took time out from his studies at Leeds University to capitalise on some good form.
After subtle swing changes in a recent lesson with Adrian, Ian then went on to secure two high placed finishes followed by a victory in the British Universities Stroke play Championship.
His First event was the R and A Bursars tournament held over St Andrews
Eden course and the Old course, Ian shot 74 71 around the Eden and 72 around the Old course to finish in 5th place.
The following weekend he played in the prestigious Duncan Putter against a field of English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish internationals and finished 4th with rounds of 74, 69, 68 and great final low round of 65
The third event he competed in was the British Universities Stroke Play Final which
he won with rounds of 73, 67, 75, 73 against a very strong field of elite university golfers. The 67 being a course record and this rich vein of form has seen his handicap get back to a very commendable +3.0.
