Plus 3 handicap Sam quickly took on board the changes securing the prized Penwortham Rose Bowl. Ironically some 20 years since Adrian left his first club pro’s job at Hall O’th Hill, Chorley Golf Club popular Sam has emerged from this very friendly but competitive club as one of their leading players.

Penwortham Rose Bowl

Sam Stuart timed his victory to perfection in the Penwortham Rose Bowl as he heads to Scotland later in the week to compete in the St Andrews Links Trophy.
“I’ve made a slow start to the season so to get a first win under my belt is all the incentive I need,” he said.
The 20-year-old England A Squad player from Chorley moved into third place in the Mitsushiba Northern Order of Merit in which he finished runner-up in 2006.
And the previous day he helped table-topping Lancashire beat Cheshire in the Northern Counties League at St Annes Old Links – where he is also a member – when he won on the final green for a half.
In wet conditions Stuart, who plays of plus three, opened with a 67 thanks to birdying the first two holes, and closed with 70, one-under-par in total, to prevail by a stroke from Carlisle’s Stephen Jobson.
“I had four bogeys in two rounds which were all down to three putting.” he added.
