Pupils Take Advantage Of Advanced Coaching Using Biomechanics
March 2008

Biomechanics ReportAdrian Fryers’ commitment and passion for coaching means he researches and considers any resources that may help students play and perform better.

Part of this ongoing research meant the Drivetime professional team attending a seminar in January hosted by the professional staff from Total Golf Analysis and looking at the Biomechanics in golf. Subsequently this involved some select pupils undergoing a Biomechanical screening then using Biofeedback to provide the ‘feel’ of the correct positions and motion.

With the help of the PGA Professional John Watson representing Total Golf Analysis in the North West the quality of the pupils methods were accurately plotted providing hard and fast data about the efficiency of their golf swings.

Biomechanics has many advantages; it allows you to measure exactly where you are now with your technique. You are provided with accurate data compared to elite performers of your age, weight and height. The efficiency of your kinetic chain is measured e.g. how well do you pass energy along your links and ultimately into the clubhead and ball?

Although the process is expensive to complete, the reports and computer generated ‘android’ images convey the areas you need to improve to make your action as accurate and powerful as possible.

Study the pictures and examples of reports and follow the interesting links to find out more how biomechanics has not just helped the likes of Harrington become a big hitter but how it may help you too.
