Ask any golf professional or world-class golf ‘ coach who is the teacher they most admire or has had the most influence on modern coaching?’ and only one name will ever be consistently mentioned John Jacobs OBE.

From Tiger’s past and present coaches, Butch Harmon and Hank Haney through to David Leadbetter they all hold John Jacobs in the highest esteem. Despite training the likes of Haney and other notable teachers like Jim Hardy, Jacobs is responsible for not only shaping coaching but also the European Tour and many other golf institutions.

Adrian along with Former European Open Champion and senior Tour Player Andrew Murray and Didsbury Professional and Former tour player Peter Barber they made a pilgrimage to spend a day with Mr Jacobs at his home in Hampshire. Andrew and Peter have known John for many years from their playing days and Adrian from John kindly speaking at the North Region PGA Conference and giving advice to Adrian over many years.

To spend time with Jacobs listening to his golfing wisdom is truly a delight for any golfer but to spend a day chatting then have him give your swing the ‘once over’ is an experience most professionals can only dream about. All three professionals count their day spent with Jacobs as a privilege one of the their career high points
