JAMES ROBINSON has capped a successful season by winning a place in the English Golf Union’s A squad for next season.
The 20-year-old, a semi-finalist in the English Amateur last year, has won several titles in the north west this year, including the Formby Hare.
He was runner-up in the Scottish Youth Open and part of Lancashire’s winning team in the county finals.
The Southport and Ainsdale golfer has been a member of this year’s England under-21s squad, now merged with the A squad as part of the streamlining of the EGU’s coaching system.
Meanwhile the English Golf Union is offering a unique opportunity for golfers to experience the coaching programme offered to top amateur players.
The England Experience is an opportunity for 12 golfers to spend three days with the England coaches at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa and play one of Britain’s top inland course, The Hotchkin. The experience includes short game and swing technique, psychology and conditioning.
