My Players - Paul Howard

Adrian's comments 2004:
In the short time I have been coaching Paul since the middle of the 2004 season he has demonstrated a natural talent and mature composure above his years. Paul a naturally 'late' hitter of the Garcia mould is capable of stiking the ball with his woods and irons a long way probably catching the odd senior member by suprise when joining the lightweight junior for a few holes at his home club Houghwood perched on the hillside overlooking Wigan and St Helens. Paul has recently worked on changes to his swing which are making him a more consistent ball striker and this season, I'm sure we should see his handicap tumble along with some wins along the way and recognition from the county of his talents.

Achievements

Won the Junior order of merit 2003 and 2004.

In 2004 aged thirteen he played above his age group at U.15 County level and represented Lancashire against Yorkshire, Durham and Cheshire and won all three matches.

In 2005 Paul is competing in the Faldo Series and in the first round of the all age Lancashire Boys Championship held at Burnley Golf Club Paul recorded the lowest net score.

Sept 05 -Playing in the Gullick Trophy, an event set up in memory of his Grandfather at Houghwood Golf club, Paul followed in the foot steps of his brother who had also previously won the same event but did it in style shooting the course record of 67 gross and equalling the record previously set by Lancashire Boys regular andy Butcher.

Won Regional schools with 6 under total.

Captained England Schools againts Scotland and Wales.

Course Record at Houghwood 4under.

Won Spring Meeting at Southport and Ainsdale.

Played for Lancashire Boys since 13 years of age just got first 2 county colours for Mens team
