Adrian's comments 2004 : I started working with Matt on his technique and performance 3 years ago. Matt is a fine player and every season has seen big improvements in his technique. His golf swing is now much more simple and efficient and Matt has a good understanding of his strengths and weaknesses. Matt has won many events with the pinnacle being his victory in the British PGA Assistants Championship at St Annes Old Links, this prestigious win placed his name on the trophy alongside previous winners and golfing greats Peter Allis, Neil Coles, Barry Lane, Dai Rees and Tony Jacklin.
Every department of his game is very solid, a long driver of the ball, good long and medium irons, excellent short game and good putter. Matt played in this year's PGA Championship at Wentworth alongside the likes of Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and a host of Ryder Cup players. Although he didn't perform as well as he knows he can, the experience of playing with Europe's elite demonstrated to Matt he had the game to compete at the highest level. The learning curve for the aspiring Tour player is long and tough, Matt definitely has the big match temperament and a boost of a little more self belief should see him in the winners circle again and ultimately European Tour success.
Matt Does the Double!!! Securing a place in history Matt won the British PGA Assistants Championship at the London Club for the second time in three years.Click Here for full details.
